The Drama that defines Great Television.

Currently Listening to: All Love - Ingrid Michaelson

This has got to be the most intense season finale ever. It's been a few hours since i watched the season finale of Grey's Anatomy Season 5 and i'm still experiencing mixed emotions of awe and shock. Dwelling into the episode any further would cause me to start bawling again. And.. talking about cliffhangers, i bet you've never experienced one like this.

This season (season 5) has been a a ride of a lifetime, it's undeniably my favourite season to date and i'm sure many others think so too, considering it's the no. 1 most viewed drama in the US, falling just behind American Idol.

Here's why i absolutely loved this season. I loved how in this season, Der and Mer were uber sweet, all these sweetness however, was preceded by a dream, a nightmare that revolves around losing a loved one. It was my idea of a good introduction to the season, and to indicate that fear always exists in happy endings. I personally felt there were three climaxes this season, and i love all of them. The death-roll prisoner story-line was intriguing, and it leads on to the crashing of one of the most brilliant surgeons on the show. This is linked with the season's biggest storyline, where a beloved member of the cast was taken ill. I was bawling like a cow for the weeks leading to the season finale and the season finale blew me away. One other fantastic part of this season would be the cross-over which went on for a couple of weeks. Maybe it's just me but i feel the script for this season was awesome, Shonda totally rocked it.

Alright, back to the finale. It was intense on all levels and for all characters. It was rosy for some of the cast - Mer and Der were really sweet which Lex and Mark were adorable. Chris and Owen finally worked things out. However, it was so intense for the others. Alex and Izz's storyline was heartbreaking, especially the part where he stood there helpless as she died.I hate it when Bailey cries, it really gets to me. The George storyline was ... unexpected and it tore me apart. The final scene where Izzie met George, it was really really good. Alex (Justin Chambers) deserves an Emmy and so does the entire Season.

Now, it's time to heal and await Season 6.

Cherish.

Currently Listening to: If You Seek Amy - Britney Spears

"The New Year isn't about what happened, it's about what's to come. The past is always with us, just waiting to mess with the present."

I kinda like this photo taken by C.

Watching the season premiere of CSI Season 9 almost reduced me to tears... almost. Regardless of whether it's CSI, Grey's Anatomy, The OC or Brothers and Sisters, i've grown over the years with the respective ensemble casts and have become accustomed to them being a 'family'. Needless to say, the loss of any cast member, especially if death was bestowed upon that character, would feel very real. I took away an important lesson today that could be summed in one word - cherish.

"He lived his life to the fullest each day, as if it was his last day..."

I haven't really had time to stop for a breather since ushering in the new year. Being down with eye infection is really an indication that i should slow down, breathe and pace myself. Still, I guess that's not really an option for me given the increasing number of assignments/projects as well as the increase in expectations, all going on concurrently. My 'disappearance' will become more evident once CNY is over and yes, one might say i am in burning bridges with my constant absence, but i guess i've already made my choice to spend my time more wisely than waste it on a night of partying. Anyway some bridges really deserved to be burnt la, especially those who think too highly of themselves. BUT i'll cherish, cos the feeling of loss, it's not something i ever want to experience.

This year, i've taken to having my i-pod as my best friend.. This best friend of mine carries all the songs, MMO's and lyrics which i need to listen and memorize so i'm pretty much going to be oblivious to everyone around when my earphones are in.

Happy Lunar New Year in advance!

Grey's Anatomy Season 5.

I absolutely cannot wait for Grey's Anatomy Season 5 to premiere on 25 Sept!.. One of the reasons is because of Ellen Pompeo's (Meredith) heart wrenching, intense and stunningly good acting in the promo video for Season 5. Check it out below!

Gossip Girl returns..

This is the promo picture for the new season of Gossip Girl. Not exactly appropriate for a teen drama but hey, welcome to the dark side! If you followed my entries, you'd realise that this is one of the dramas that i was introduced to last week. I finished the entire first season in 3 days, watching late into the night because it's so addictive.

Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald)

Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen) and Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf)
Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass), Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald), Penn Badgley (Dan Humphrey)

Looking at the 6 main actors in Season 1, i must say 2 of them stood out the most. Both Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen) and Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald) fitted the "they can't take their eyes off me because i'm so hot" description. The insanely good looking Chace Crawford is however paired with Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) who looks suspiciously like Angela Zhang. Anyway, what really attracted me was the way the story was delivered, with the mysterious 'Gossip Girl' narrating the lives of the rich and the scandals that surround them.

I'm eagerly anticipating the return of GG aka Gossip Girl on April 21! ;)

PS: Replying to queries, I have not ditched this space.. yet. Fewer entries put up just means that i'm taking the effort to make sure every entry is interesting, and not just a random "A Day in My Life" post. That's not to say i won't blog about my life, just really significant events. You know you love me.. ;)

The Singapore Flyer

Besides being taken ill a few days back, these days have been rather relaxing. I've finished Gossip Girl Season 1 in three days and it's indeed the dope for all American dramas. (Quotes Kristen). Oh and i've also finished Kyle XY Season 2.

What's to come? 5 additional episodes of Grey's Anatomy Season 4 and Gossip Girl in end April due to the bloody writer's strike. I'll talk more about Gossip Girl soon. Until then, another belated entry.. enjoy. ;)

Last Thursday, I went to the Singapore Flyer with Chongqing and John. Our lunch was split into 2 parts. We ate at Seasons Reasons prior to the ride and at The Soup Spoon after that..

Chongqing told us about the symbolism of that gigantic ferris wheel and it's relation to the water spitting creature. Oh it's called the Merlion by the way. The view of the entire city from the capsule, on the wheel was breathtaking, especially at the point where we were right at the top of the wheel. Somehow , every single landmark looked familiar as compared to when i was in Taiwan where every building looked unfamiliar. Anyway, we decided to take emo shots. Here's one Chongqing took for me..

I personally felt the effect would've been much better if we weren't capsuled. That means, if we had the chance to breathe the air and feel the breeze at such a height, i'm sure our half hour ride would be even more memorable.. Ha ha...
Alright.. i'm ending off with some of the scenic shots taken..

Quinn..

I realised that in life, your decisions somehow speak louder than your reasonings thereafter. Blah.. I've finished Kyle XY Season 2 and i'm patiently awaiting Season 3. Meanwhile, i'm getting so addicted to Gossip Girl. It seems all that hype is not wasted.. it's really good, well scripted.. Ok. Back to the entry..

Quinn and i
I met Quinn for dinner awhile ago. We've been trying to fix a time to meet up but both our schedules are quite packed. Initial lunch plans were changed to dinner because he was held up at the agency. As a model, he flies to different countries for castings. *envious*. We chatted about his past 2 months stay in SG, the experiences with the people here, castings he got and his home in America and its cold winter there. We then talked about the places we've been to and some other stuff. It was enriching! Oh and i forgot to mention that the food sucks. Being a 'food critic', he was extremely particular about food and the restaurant we patronized served lousy food.

The above shows one of the photos from the projects he did in SG.. He should be leaving for Hong Kong by now.

Kyle XY

It's April! Wow.. unbelievable. ;)

People who know me well know i am very into dramas. I have no idea how to express in words how i feel about this new drama that entered my life last week but since it gets me sitting in front of the screen for hours, it has to be good right?.. right.
I'm currently hooked on Kyle XY. I finished Season 1 last week and I've already started watching Season 2. If you want to know more about this drama, read HERE. Season 1 left me full of questions along with the suspense but it was Season 2 that got me addicted.

The plot is complicated for this Sci-Fi Family drama, but the story unfolds at a good pace and has proper development. The success of this drama , i feel, lies in the fact that everything that arises focuses on Family and Love and Trust. It's always easier to put your ideals in life into dramas you know.. On that note, I'm really surprised this isn't bigger than Heroes. Maybe people who can heal and travel through time appeal more to the masses.

Even though time plays a huge part in disallowing me from spending hours and hours watching dramas now. I know that someday, i will be able to watch all my favourite dramas continuously in the comfort of my room. No doubt, that would be my favourite kind of marathon, a dream not going to be realised as yet.

Til then..

I'm Alive.

I reckon someone would kill me if i did not post an update soon.. There's quite a bit to read.. ready?

Life has been good, tiring but smooth. I realised i tend to tire myself out by having an extremely packed schedule and for that, i have only myself to blame. I'm quite glad to say i've settled comfortably into a routine for swimming but the waking up late, dumping my breakfast, swim gear, wallet, mobile phone and bottle into my large bag and hopping into a taxi is something i dislike. It's highly unflattering to look so disheveled early in the morning. But.. I'm already working on it! ;)

I'm currently hooked on "Kyle XY" with whatever free time i have. I have no idea if it's showing in SG but it's really quite interesting to watch. This has been keeping me from being on MSN and blogging. Oh no. Don't miss me too much! ;)

Spop Hurray! Gala Premiere came and went. Other than the fact that my impressions of certain people changed drastically prior to the show, the actual event was disappointing to a certain extent with the seats as well as the programme. Yes, the seats were right in front, but so is the huge 'Spop' sign. Oh bother, here a picture we took before the show started. For the rest of the photos, please check out John's blog cos he took the pictures and i'm lazy.

[EDIT]I promised Kelv to support him for his Stardust competition and i did. Even thou i was totally drained, from all that traveling since 10am, i kept to my word and turned up! Congrats on getting into the finals Kelv! Oh and since my sole purpose there is to support Kelv, and looking at my high fatigue level, i kinda ignored everyone else. Oh well..[/EDIT]

++ It's coming!!!

I was stuck in a anger-spiral last night. For this, i apologize to those whom i 'attacked', especially those i hold dearly. Sorry.

On a happier note, i chanced upon this (see below) and i'm fricking excited!!! (=

++ the dearly beloved... OC

It's been quite a while...

... and a long while more it shall stay.

"The Graduates" in Season 3 never fails to reduce me to tears. There are so many tear-evoking scenes in that episode, not the sappy kind, but the flashbacks... gosh. *emo.

PS: there are 2 entries pending, one was a visit to Kbox with some army friends and the other is my first visit to The Picturehouse.

Stay tuned~

++ Farewell to my beloved... the OC

The finale of the OC made me tear (NOT literally). But it DID stir something in me, an emotion that sat through with me from the start til the end of the episode. Maybe it's because of the knowing fact that i was watching the last episode ever. Two of the MOST tear jerking scenes include the scene when Summer gave Julie a necklace bearing Marissa's photo on Julie's wedding day. It reminded me of the scenes of Marissa and Summer's friendship, as well Marissa and Julie's less than perfect mother-daughter relationship. Ryan's revisit of the past memories before the old house was demolished was the worst. Alright, it's really over. ='(

++ my trophy

I bought this with my first pay of the year. Now i'm going to scrimp and save cos i have to. But i'm happy that i got it, it's like my favourite drama and i've waited long enough.

Workload's still piling but i'm not really affected. As long as i do my best, within my ability, there's really nothing else i can do. So, now that i'm on 'saving' mode, please DONT ask me out for this month. =)

++ the new year, a better year

Before i start the First entry of 2007, i just want to say Season 4 of The OC is really good. After watching the first 4 episodes, i realised that the way all the characters are all dealing with Marissa's death are very well scripted, and close to heart. So, i'm still a fan, and i cant wait to indulge in the other 12 episodes. Oh and Summer is so HOT now. =) Ok, back to the entry.

I feel that the clubbing, partying, drinking aspect is slowly flowing back into my blood, but it's not as havoc as it was prior to enlistment. Probably it's due to the recent partying and drinking that stirred the remaining partying-genes in me. But i guess life will be back to normal once i go back to camp. =X

So i spent the night before having a BBQ at HY's place, blasting with loud tamil songs. Yea, u did not read wrongly, it's because the neighbouring BBQ pit was used by non-chinese, hence the music. It was quite nice in a way, since if u go clubbing, half the songs i won't know. =P After the BBQ, went back to HY's place where we played cards, drank something weird, and watched the TaiPei Countdown party. Jolin Tsai were awesome. Thou i was a bit disappointed with Mayday's long performance which bored me. XiaoZhu was horendous, he forgot his lyrics, and sang like $#%#.

At around 2, decided not to stayover so i cabbed home and the partying at home was still on (my relatives in particular), they were playing Majhong which i suck at, so i indulged in the left over food and slept at around 3.

Happy New Year to all, this WILL be the year where everything would be smooth, from financial status to relationships.
